Lecture was be given by Lord Robin Butler who needed no introduction as the only person to have served five prime ministers in the capacities of secretary, cabinet secretary, and head of the civil service.
Lecture was given by Prof Richard Cross of Notre dame University in the USA. Previously he was Professor of Medieval Theology at the University of Oxford where he was also the Senior Tutor of Oriel College. His most recent book - The Medieval Christian Philosophers - is now in paperback. It has been widely acclaimed for its clarity and readability.
Simon Bax gave a lecture following a reception at Raynham Hall.

Rasputin was in a long tradition of royal favourites in the courts of Europe who came to a sticky end. Dr Jeremy Catto put Rasputin into historical context.
Professor Edward Acton gave a broad appraisal of Russian history up to the age of Putin.
The talk was followed by a dinner for members of the North West Norfolk History Society at The Hoste in Burnham Market.
